Romeo usually not when he is outside but when he is the car!!! When a car is coming by he lurches in the back window at them. How can you break them of this?

how about him hurting himself?! lol, I know he's tough but what if he DOES break it & JUMP OUT!?

my Chocolate once jumping from the passenger window of a Ford Ranger pick up when it was parked in the driveway... BIG no-no!

change the behaviour. you also don't want any nose prints on the glass, eh? ;)

give him a stern NO command, maybe those doggie seatbeats would work for Romeo

*shrugs*

A friend of my dads on his street has a JRT tobi. When Ross gets in the car and starts to drive, tobi goes haywire.Bounces back and forth. From the front to the back. That is an accident waiting to happen. So Ross puts tobi in a crate now.Where both are safe.:D

You could have a leash on him, and warn him AH AH NO when you see him preparing to lunge at a passing car - then pop him a quick little treat or praise when he complies. Yelling NO once he's already in stupid mode won't work, & will just teach him to ignore you anyway.

This worked for Dutch, who was just horrible about cars, bicycles, people...well actually anything moving! And I cannot fit a Rottweiler-sized crate into either of my vehicles, so that wasn't an option.

Hmmmmm, theres another thing you can do.

I saw this on a training show a while back.

How about putting a leash on him and securing the other end under the passengers side.

It's an idea.

What is Romeo?
