Hi everyone, I am new here and look forward to some good discussions with you all. I have two JRT's who are the light of my life. My youngest, Abby will be 3 on Feb. 27th. At Christmas I noticed she had a small, raised, pinkish bump on her left hip. I watched it and I thought it had gone away after a few days. Then just the other day I noticed it again. It is raised and pinkish. It is not very big only about half the size of a pencil eraser and about half as thick. It does not seem to bother her. Several people have told me from the description it sounds like a histiocytoma and should be nothing to worry about. I have made an apppointment with out vet for Monday. Just wondering if someone could shed some light on this.

Thanks,

Lucky Rescue

I have no idea what's wrong with your dog. Just wanted to say "Welcome" and please let us know the outcome of the vet visit!

Hi there, I found you post on the Web and with great interest I am curious if you have found out anything?

My JR is an 8 year old Female and she has a lump on her right rear leg, she also seems lethargic lately, so I am worried. My wife pointed out the lump tonight, and we will do the Vet trip very soon, but I was wondering if you have any information that can be shared?

thanks in advance.

Todd.

We took Abby to the vet and the vet told us it was nothing to worry about. Possibly a hive that had been scratched or a wart. We are just supposed to observe it and if we really want she will remove it. Todd, as for your little girl, has she had any vacccinations lately? Often dogs will get a lump from the rabies vaccine that takes about a month to go away. Vaccinations will also make them lethargic. I hope she will be fine.

My dog seems to be a little slower than normal and she isn't quite as clingy as she used to be. I'll try to get her into the trails today and we will keep our eyes on her for the next week or so.

thanks for much for your advice. It's nice to hear the positive side.

Have a great day.
