Some Abby & Keeper stuff . . . . and a couple of other things

Not as many adventures lately for Abby & Keeper as Carol and I selfishly took some vacation time on the west coast but . . . . .

Mid-August at Rawlings Lake, above Upper Kananaskis Lake . . . . . note the late summer snow still clinging to the shady area above the lake. This area had a heavy snowfall warning a week ago. We were in the area last weekend and a place like this is firmly snowbound . . . Keeper lays in the lake after the pretty much uphill hike of some miles to this place.

Our local elk herd numbers about 100 animals . . . . they frequently wander out of the hills to bed down in the alfalfa field outside of our fence like in this image in late August. However, the bow hunters have chased them away in the last few weeks.

Keeper in the forest near out home . . . . this was under snow two weekends ago as well.

Not topical, but you might be interested . . . . sunset between Tofino and Pacific Rim National Reserve on Vancouver Island a few weeks ago, shared with others on nearby rocks.

Same place, different day . . . . we stayed at Long Beach Lodge

Beautiful pictures, gorgeous dogs. Hunting, never understood the "sport". How much fun is it to kill something? :yuck:
