they say that the size of a puppy's paws are roughly the size the adult paws will be :) so that gives you a good idea of adult size of the dog. funny eh? they "grow into" their feet!

Ha ha ha....I know his paws are massive. Thats the first thing anyone ever notices about him. Our vet figured he will be quite short (notice the stubs he has for legs) but around 60-70 lbs. So much for us thinking we were gonna have a smaller dog. Here's another view of his mitts....and look at how muddy his tail is. I swear we have the worst river mud up here,it sticks to everything!! He also managed to get tree sap and pine needles stuck under his arm pitts. Typical male.

Yeah, they do, and that would account for the short legs as well. He sure is cute though. :D

Tree sap is the worst....arrrrgh. :frustrated:

A few:

Keeper cooling down in a cow wallow:

Abby on a walk:

Abby gets the head lock clean-up treatment after digging in the field. . . . . the strange thing here is that it was about 15 below zero and she still managed to get muddy.

Bronwyn after a "treat" I didn't realize was edible-it dissolved immediately into orange goo.

The day before Meik started "school" I bathed him and brushed him just so perfectly!!!
When i returned home after a quick trip to the store, he had escaped from his pen and tore off after the cows and ROLLED in the cow dung!!!!!!
Thankfully I dont have a pic of that

This is the closest they have been to dirty in a while.

Lol awesome pics,ALL of them. Love the Keeper and Abby photos of course, patience is SUCH a virtue.
I agree that tree sap is one of the worst to get out of fur, but I'd rather work on removing sap then scrubbing cow pies outta his hair lol.
Why must dogs find the most disgusting things to roll in?
And yes he is Rotti/Basset Hound, what a combo.

I had to laugh when I read you say "typical male" , you know what they say about the size of mens feet right being compared to the size of...ummm... never mind LOL. I'm bad:evil:

This thread is great! I love dirty dogs. :) Setters are usually too woossy to get too wet so a really dirty one is hard to get a picture of... However, one day I did catch Ember in a rare state of grunginess

I don't blame them for being so wussy. They're too gorgeous to get dirty. Ember certainly made an exception though. :D

Wow those are some filthy dogs, Shelby's is usually too prissy to get very dirty...especially never THAT dirty.
I count my blessings that she avoids the mud, Shamus on the other hand runs straight for it, so in the future I will be giving my share of bath's I guess.
I'm glad this thread didn't completley crash and burn, thanks for keeping it alive guys!!

trippincherri
October 17th, 2006, 01:38 PM
Oh My Gosh!!
How hard was it to get Blue cleaned?
White coat and mud might be a cause for some stains.
I love the innocence though, like she's saying:
"What? I fell okay?!"

Giggle...looks more to me like she's saying "yeah, I'm dirty--whatchya gonna do about it?"
