3 month old puppy keeps vomiting after eating....

I have a 3 month old Pekingese and he keeps vomiting after eating. The vet gave him Metoclopram S to give him twice a day and hour before eating at 2 months, but it seems to be not helping. The vet keeps saying that it will work, but its been a month now since he has been on this medication. He gets sick some times after we give him the meds. Has anyone had this same issue with a Pekingese puppy before? Please Help!

What are you feeding him?

What tests has the vet done? Any x-rays taken?

Where did you get this puppy? If he is from a pet store or backyard breeder, he may have a congenital defect.

Does he vomit after he has eaten everything, or is the food coming up right away?

Well, I took the lil guy to the pet again. After they did some test and some xrays, they found out he has Megaesophagus. Poor lil guy, not sure what we are going to do. Hopefully, he will grow out of this since he is a puppy and their is a change he might.

OH, that's too bad! Have you contacted the breeder about this and about reimbursing you for the vet bills? Of course, if it's a pet store or disreputable breeder, you may be out of luck.

Yes, he may outgrow it if properly managed.

Here's an article. Scroll down to "Treatment".

Good luck and let us know how the little guy does!

Awwww poor puppy.

I have to agree with LR about contacting the breeder.

Where did you you get him?

I bought him from a breeder, and they are going to take care of the pet bills for the little guy. They asked us if we wanted to give him back, but my girlfriend and I are already way too much attached to him. We have started him on a wet puppy food diet. We feed him 3 times a day at a 45-90% angle and hold him for about 15 minutes. Seems to be doing the trick, he seems to be keeping his food down. We went and bought a water bottle and mounted it, so he would be drinking at the same angle we have been feeding him. Its a lot of work, but he is worth it.

A gold star for the breeder! Hope your pup overcomes this problem.:)

While your giving out gold stars hand a few out to the owner! How many times have we heard people complain about stuff that is normal puppy care, and here you have two people that are feeding the puppy so that he stays in a position that will allow his food to stay down, and mount a water bottle so that is at the right angle!:o :o :o What to go Texas!
