Bed wetter

September 7th, 2006, 05:41 AM
Hi all I really need some help. I have a 4month old JackRussel and he is totally deaf (born that way). He has no problems though with house training he goes to the door and does his dance in the day time.
The trouble is that in the morning when he wakes up he ALWAYS pees in his bed or wherever he is woken up. This also happens sometimes after he naps. I mean immediately after he wakes up even if I pick him up to put him out right away he still pees on me.
This is getting pretty annoying almost to the point where I don't want him.And trust me I love my animals and this one was saved from the pound himself.

Any ideas would help me out lots Thanks.

It may be a medical problem as in weak muscular control, male dogs can have incotinence as well, a good idea to talk to the vet about, they may have medication that can help

I'd have him checked out at the vet, as he may have a medical condition causing this. He could have a problem with his kidneys for example. However, he is only 4 mo old, so maybe he is just startled and losing control and when he gets older he will outgrow this. A vet should be able to help, at any rate. good luck

Definitely talk to your vet about it. The vet might give a med (like Propalin) that strengthens the bladder muscles. :) Good luck.

I agree with the others. There's no need to give up on him. Please get him checked by your vet and post with an update. :fingerscr
