sick dog

My dog who is 7 yrs old is unable to walk. We took him
to our vet, he seems to think his muscles are breaking down,
but he is not sure. He took a test to see if it was his spine
that was negative. He wags his tail when you talk to him and
sometimes can lift his head. We are now on our third kind of
medicine to try and help him. When he does try and walk his
front legs give out on him and he falls on his face. The vet is
not sure what else to do for him right know. Can you please
try and suggest something for us to help him?

thank you,

I think I would shop around for another vet. It could be anything, but I would be worried about some type of cancer.

At this point, I would think that blood panels and x-rays would be a minimum to try to find the problem.

What kind of dog is it? Dobermans are prone to pinched nerves and that can cause temporary paralysis. We had a dob who lived to be 17 years, and we had to have her put to sleep partly because of the nerves in her neck pinching and not releasing.

Find a chiropractor that will treat your dog, NOT kidding they can do wonders....especially a chiropractic neurologist!!

It could be pinched nerves or disc problems.

Don't do anything until you get professional experience.

I know of a bishon that was suddenly unable to move, my chiropracter did some tests and massaging on the dog plus showed the owners how to do the same. Within a week dog could walk again!
