Elvis is dying

My 11 year old black lab Elvis is dying. He just had his spleen removed, in addition to nodules on the spleen, they found a very large blood clot in his abdomen which they also removed. Biopsys taken of liver and spleen no results yet.
After surgery, not doing well. X-ray taken of chest indicates fluid in the chest cavity it is not determined whether it is blood. Blood work results don't show anything significant, although he is a bit anemic. Outward symptoms are weakness, vomiting, excessive thirst, lethargy. What could be going on, the vets don't seem to know.

We are terribly sorry for the trauma you are undergoing with your pet.

You must understand however that it would be unethical for any of our specialists to comment on such complex medical problems without seeing your pet...it's simply impossible.

My advice is to wait for the results of the tests and then talk to your vet.
He/She knows your pet far better than anyone else.
If you are still unhappy, then get a second opinion. Bring your pet and all his records to another vet who can diagnose what's going on by physically examining the animal and seeing the results.
