cat diarreah

I just had my female calico spayed 3 days ago. Since then, she has had diarreah, and is somewhat lethargic. It took her two full days get over the anesthesia. There is no blood or mucous in the stool, doesn't seem dehydrated, and is now eating and drinking normal amounts. Do some cats react this way to anesthesia, just taking longer to bounce back? Thank you for any advice you can give me!

Yes, she could still be feeling the effects of the anesthetic! Keep checking her incision - if it's swollen, red and/or hot, call your vet.

For the diarrhea, if it's mild, try giving her boiled white chicken and rice for a few days, and if the diarrhea persists you may want to call about that too.

As long as her incisions looks healthy and she is eating and drinking, I wouldn't worry too much.:)

The medicine that they use can actually stay in their bodys for over 30 days. I know my parents cat is sensitive to any kind of change so they had problems for a few weeks after having him fixed.

Like it was already said, as long as the incision looks good, don't worry to much right now.
