rainbow August 11th, 2006, 11:21 AM What, no fruit salad? :p
technodoll August 11th, 2006, 11:23 AM no fruit salad :p
it has to be from one of the options below! :D
rainbow August 11th, 2006, 11:26 AM Well, I guess I'll have to pick the strawberry shortcake and pick off all the fruit. :D
Golden Girls August 11th, 2006, 11:45 AM If that's chocolate mouse in between the layers and layers of cake in # 5 then that's my choice. If not and I was litterally forced to pick another ... I'd have to sample every other one just to make sure :D
Puppyluv August 11th, 2006, 12:28 PM Honestly, none of them. There are only 3 desserts that I can't resist: 1) SUPERB, and it better be top notch, tiramisu, 2) Brunoise's Vanilla Pana Cotta with basil syrup and passion fruit and 3) The lemon chiffon from what was formerly marianne's but has since changed names... to I don't know what (for the Calgarian's who might know of it, it's beneath The Cookbook Co.)
jiorji August 11th, 2006, 12:35 PM can I pick 6 times?(the cookies don't really tempt me)
but i'd go for the fudge, and then everything else.
SnowDancer August 11th, 2006, 12:35 PM I have to agree with PuppyLuv - but I would be restricted to Panna Cotta - without any fruit or other toppings - and made of course in northern Italy.
technodoll August 11th, 2006, 12:55 PM guys! : :offtopic:
i said if you HAD to pick one... which one! need to bring dessert to some dinner in a couple weeks and debating which one is a favorite from the available choices! :dog:
Puppyluv August 11th, 2006, 01:00 PM Oh, then I would bring strawberry short cake.
technodoll August 11th, 2006, 01:22 PM good thing strawberries are in season :)
nobody likes stuff with chocolate or caramel in the summer, i guess?
Skryker August 11th, 2006, 02:31 PM LOVE chocolate and caramel together; but in the summer, the strawberry shortcake wins!
Frenchy August 11th, 2006, 05:08 PM HUMMM,lovely pictures...is the fourth one cheesecake? If so,that's the one.If not, chocolat sunday :thumbs up argggg, now I'm hungry for sweets....
Rottielover August 11th, 2006, 09:11 PM I would go with strawberry shortcake
technodoll August 11th, 2006, 09:14 PM what the hey, everybody's into fruit! ok how about chocolate-dipped strawberries, that way at least *I* get some chockit?? :o

rainbow August 11th, 2006, 09:22 PM That's definitely a winner too. You have to have something fairly light for a dessert in the summer. So either strawberry or peach shortcake, or else, the chocolate dipped strawberries would be my choice.
glasslass August 11th, 2006, 09:30 PM It would have to be the sundae! I wouldn't order any of those choices after a full meal. The only desserts that tempt me then are Creme Brulee, or Mexican Flan. Love those smooth custards! They just kind of slip through the cracks!
Cinnabear August 11th, 2006, 10:32 PM I'd go with the shortcake. You can make it with any type of fruit.:thumbs up
Prin August 11th, 2006, 10:38 PM My x used to make triple dipped strawberries... (first dark chocolate, then milk, then white...mmmmm)
I'd pick the chocolate cake. Sure, we have to pick just one, but can we have two pieces of the one we pick?:cloud9:
technodoll August 11th, 2006, 10:58 PM prin, you can have as many pieces as you want! did i forget to mention, all those deserts are fat-free with only 15 calories each? :D sigh. yep, even in dreams we have to deal with calories :frustrated:
Prin August 11th, 2006, 11:01 PM lol even though I should (because my metabolism is slowing down with these pills), I don't care about the calories. :D Bad is bad, so why bother counting? Yeah, I ate two pieces of that imaginary cake. I KNOW it's not an apple or a rice cake. :D
jesse's mommy August 11th, 2006, 11:14 PM This is easy -- ICE CREAM, ICE CREAM, ICE CREAM!!!!:D
jiorji August 11th, 2006, 11:16 PM :D i want this kind of chocolate (look below) with some fudge squares from pic#2
Prin August 11th, 2006, 11:19 PM aw! so adorable.
rainbow August 11th, 2006, 11:20 PM Oh, he's absolutely adorable, I'd take him in a heartbeat....that's even better than "real" chocolate. :D
Puppyluv August 11th, 2006, 11:37 PM This probably sounds weird, but one of my faves, especially in summer is angel food cake with macerated fruit (and whipped cream for those who like it). Mmmmmm

Prin August 12th, 2006, 12:08 AM what's macerated?:o
technodoll August 12th, 2006, 10:59 AM From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Macerating is a form of food preparation. Raw, dried or preserved fruit or vegetables are soaked in liquid to soften and to absorb the flavour of the liquid.[1] In the case of fruit, they are often just sprinkled with sugar, then left to sit and release their own juices. This process makes the food more flavourfull and easier to chew and digest.
Macerating is often confused with "marination", also known as marinading, which is the process of soaking foods in a seasoned, often acidic, liquid before cooking.
yummy!! :D
erykah1310 August 12th, 2006, 11:02 AM Im right there with you on the angel food cake! ( really the only thing i can eat on your list)
However of the first few choices i too would opt for the strawberry shortcake
Puppyluv August 12th, 2006, 01:01 PM The best macerated fruits are done with sugar and a little liqueur. When you have a dessert and the fruit is extra juicy, they've most likely been macerated.
mummummum August 14th, 2006, 12:19 AM Okay, here's my proposal (I'm a negotiator/ mediator at heart...what can I say?) :
A layer of shortcake drizzled with dark chocolate, a layer of strawberries which have been soaked (macerated for you foodies) in Grand Marnier and a layer of cream - repeat 2 or 3 x then top with strawberries, REAL whip cream and chocolate curls. MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmm...YUMMMMY!

Maybe in a colder season, but in the summer? no way! (unless it stays this bloody cold)
technodoll August 14th, 2006, 08:33 AM no no after a day of playing outside & swimming, and a nice fresh salad for dinner... that dessert is JUST the ticket! wooohoooo!!!
