Higher Protein Kibble

July 20th, 2006, 10:15 PM
A pet store employee told me tha higher protein foods (like SG Barking at Moon) will help calm a hyper dog (like caffiene for ADHD kids) .... anyone have any knowledge of this - is it fact or fiction ?

Well if higher protein means less carbs, then maybe it's true... But then again some dogs get a super increase in energy when they're on a food they can absorb really well... If you do go with one of those, be sure to add a little fiber to the diet... Those foods tend to be lacking fiber.

There's no harm in trying out different foods to see what works best for your pet. You can always switch back. Just do everything very gradually.
