Constipated Puppy

My husband and I have noticed within the past day or so that our Pup seems to be having a tinge of trouble "going".

He said... "I think Abby might be a little constipated".

She is eating Nutro Ultra Holistic puppy chow.

My mom said when he dog would seem a little bound up that she would feed him some carrots which seemed to loosen the stool.

Has anyone encountered puppy constipation??
She's not had ANY problems up until yesterday.

Thanks

Jessica

I have a couple of questions that will help figure out what's happening.

Is this a new food that you just swiched to?

How long has your dog been on this food?

Has anything changed for your dog (IE/ new food, different water, new home)?

Sometimes when you change food/enviroment dogs often experience a change in their stool, some get the runs while others get bound up.

The general rule for this kind of thing is if the symptom last only a day or two, there is nothing to worry about. However if your dog continues to have trouble more that two days you need to get him to the vet.

I used to slip some All Bran into Boo's food when he was on strike for more than 3 days (it was a spiteful thing- if he lost his "spot" or we didn't feed him on time one day, or whatever...:D). Not too much though because it can cause gas... (About 1/4 cup for a large doggy). But be sure it's not a blockage first!! If it's a blockage from eating something that you didn't notice, adding bran could make the problem much worse.

This is the food she was eating when we got her... They told us she is eating Nutro Holistic Ultra puppy chow, and I went and bought exactly that.

We have have her for a hair more than two weeks now (it seems longer than two weeks) and she's been fine.
We do have a cat and had to move her kitty food because we busted Abby eating it. But that was almost immediately so it's been over a week ago.

The only thing I can think of maybe, and I don't know if this would cause it...
She did get her booster vaccinations on Wednesday which is when we noticed it, after her shots, the morning after.
And she was so pathetic when she got her shoots, she wimpered for two/three minutes after and then all night everytime you touched her she would cry. She was really feeling crudy :(
She was feeling better the next morning, but again seemed like "going" was an effort.

I don't think boosters would constipate a dog... Has she gone yet?
