Double teeth

My mini schnauzer Bailey is 5 mos. old. I noticed today that she has some double teeth...
alongside the canines both sides and in the back also. Is this because the baby teeth didn't fall out yet? I've never experienced this before. She's being spayed the 26th. Should I ask the vet to pull them if they don't fall out by then?

Yes, mention it to the vet at that time. It's much better than to have to anesthetize her again for the teeth. But hopefully they will have fallen out before then. Don't worry about it, it's not unusual in some small dog breeds.

My previous poodle had double canines. It's pretty common. The vet pulled them when he was neutered at 7mos. The permanent teeth very quickly moved into their correct places and he never had any trouble with them.
