Jemma and Boo in B&W... maybe..

July 1st, 2006, 01:29 PM
I just loaded my pics onto photobucket and I just want to try them out to see how huge they are and if it works and things...

July 1st, 2006, 01:31 PM
Yey!!! And they're not too huge, right?

Ok, we'll see how huge these are...:fingerscr

July 1st, 2006, 01:48 PM

This is the life, eh?
Jemma posing...
And back to color...

Yey! No more compressing and cropping and losing detail! Woohoo!!!:o
I mean, they're a bit big, but that's better than too small and blurry, right?

Here are a couple from the other day that I couldn't shrink properly...
Jemma and Boo waiting for for the boat to come in..
Boo keeping an eye on everything...

July 1st, 2006, 02:16 PM
Yey! I'm so excited about this! Don't worry, this is just my test thread- I won't be posing pics like this every day (hopefully).
I posted this one before, but now I can post it huge! :D (oh... it didn't turn out that big... Oh well...)

And Jemma being Jemma with Boo...

Ok, really, I'm done now.

Great pictures. I love seeing pictures of Jemma and Boo. You can tell they are just so happy! You take such wonderful pictures. Wish mine would turn out half as good. I've been trying to talk to the man into getting a new camera and he is of the theory, the other one isn't broke, why do we need a new one? He spends money on stupid things, but won't spend money on this. Go figure! Please keep posting away.

lol Who'd have thought yer man would say no to buying a gadget?! :D

Thanks... My doggies are cuties. I can't really take credit for it, so I just agree.:D We're lucky to have gotten a pretty girl like Jemma and a handsome boy like Boo. I'd like to say they're rare doggies, but doggies like them end up in rescues all the time.:(

Since you asked... :D

Here's my handsome boy again...

And my cute baby girl in her favorite sleeping spot and position these days... (don't mind the crappy stick-on tiles..:yuck: )

Last one....
Swimming too far out..

Great pics Prin!!! I can finally look at pics again(because of high speed internet;) !!! The last pic is funny! And I love the black and white pics too!

July 1st, 2006, 09:47 PM
When I first saw the sleeping spot picture, I thought she was up against the wall eavesdropping. THEN, I realized the picture was sideways!:D

Copper I'm glad you got high speed just to see these pics. :D (perk of the Spa Chez Parents?)

Glasslass, that pic looks skewed any way I put it, so I just left it the way it was. She's funny though. She lies with her back on the wall for a while and then flips her legs up on it... :)

I love the one by the window;Jemma (red eyes and showing teeth) and Boo looking

Oui Oui but of course!!! LOL

Thanks Chico and Frenchy...:)

I think you can actually see more detail of the black fur in black and white... With color, the black always ends up too black... *shrugs*

Frenchy, that's how Boo gets the girls. He always looks like the victim/innocent bystander. (really, he's the instigator.. )

Copper, enjoy your sejour then.:D

I just realized something, so Jemma doesn't need a life vet only Boo? Is it because of ADD Boo who won't listen and keeps going when he is swimming? Does Jemma just return right away?

July 2nd, 2006, 04:44 PM
Jemma goes out a bit and swims in circles, eating her splashes, or she goes out to get the toy/stick we threw and comes straight back. Boo on the other hand, goes faaaaarrr out and then a boat passes and he slowly follows the boat even farther...

Remember this one? He was following the boat on the right (with my dad and his dog in it) and then saw a party on the shore, so decided to go pay them a visit. He's a country house away, if you know what I mean. FAR. I let him go that time because there was almost nobody on the lake... No boats anyway.

Actually I don't think I ever saw that picture. He's a little bugger isn't he?

July 2nd, 2006, 04:50 PM
lol Yep, my ADD, stray-at-heart Boo. He's so frustrating because he's not good enough off leash, but not bad enough to be leashed all the time either. He's good at the selective hearing too. He comes eventually... :thumbs up:

July 2nd, 2006, 07:47 PM
OK so what's the story with  Jemma,is she really? In the pics of her showing teeth, she looks real nasty,is she?I guess she's not,but when does she do it?Peticular reason for it?Inquiring mind wants to know :o

July 2nd, 2006, 08:18 PM
She's very open with her feelings... :o If Boo smells her ear for too long, she tells him (like in that pic). If you pick her up, move her, squeeze her, touch her lips, touch her feet... etc etc, she growls like that. But only when she's crabby.

She hasn't snapped at us without cause... I mean, most people would stop bugging her right away, but we just keep going. I think because we keep going, she has a much higher threshold, even for Boo. I don't think any stranger on the street could get her to growl like crazy though.

It's mainly immobilization in the air that stresses her the most. Like the usual growly pic that I post- that's from my man lifting her off the ground for a hug... She growls all the way up and then once she's up, she's usually ok and back to being smiley. :D

But I mean, she's vocal all the time about everything. When she's happy, she howls. When she's way too excited, she barks. :) She's just expressive... We like her that way.

See? She howls too... :D

Too bad that picture doesn't come with sound!

July 2nd, 2006, 09:33 PM
lol I know, eh!? Too bad...:o

Prin, what breed are Jemma and Boo? They are beautiful. Jemma's blue eyes are absolutely gorgeous!

July 3rd, 2006, 11:00 AM
Jemma is probably a husky/lab and we think Boo is either a newf/pointer (my choice) or a dane/lab (everybody else's choice). He's a big guy. Jemma can pass under him...:) He has very short fluffy fur...

July 3rd, 2006, 11:07 AM
i love the b/w the poser pics

July 3rd, 2006, 01:30 PM
It's amazing how much alike they look to me. They both look like brother and sister - like black labs. I don't think I've ever seen two solid black dogs with eye color like they have. When I see pics of them, they remind me of black sand beaches with blue and orange jewels scattered in the sand.
You're very lucky Prin :)

July 3rd, 2006, 01:34 PM
Thanks. I know I'm lucky... After nearly 5 years of effort, time, money and energy, I got me some good ones.:D We're at the stage now where they just know me so well and I can look at them and have a pretty good idea of what they're thinking... I want a third one still, but for now, I just want to relish the peace that these two bring...:)

July 3rd, 2006, 01:45 PM
Were they hard cases when you first brought them home? I've always admired people with large breed pets. I guess I stick to the small breeds because I'm afraid of what a big dog could do to me if it felt like I guess I automatically think a large breed dog would or could be aggressive. I don't know...I especially admire the pitty owners. I'd be scared to death of my own dog:(

July 3rd, 2006, 01:54 PM
Boo nibbled in the beginning because he was never taught not to bite. Now you can't get him to bite you if your life depended on it. There just isn't a bad bone in his body. All hugs.

Jemma was a little bit more feisty. We were told never to bring her to dog parks because she was too aggressive. All she needed was a couple hours of playing a day and a good alpha owner and now she's the sweetest, cuddliest doggy.

The only trouble I really had was with allergies and mild medical issues. Boo is intolerant to chicken and Jemma's allergic to wheat, corn and ragweed (and there are probably others). Jemma also has spay incontinence, which was so frustrating at first but once we got her on her estrogen pills, it hasn't even been an issue.

I grew up with huge doggies, so it wasn't ever a question for me. When you go into a shelter and the majority there are these big black ones, you just can't take a blond, brown or a multi-colored dog because you just know they'll all get adopted anyway.

And with two blacks, you can arrange your wardrobe and furniture to match the fur pretty easily.:D
