10000 birds in fire - not a single thought for them ?

This weekend in our local paper (sorry, it's in French, but you'll get the point):

In short, this article relates a fire that destroyed a broiler farm... and while 10000 birds were trapped inside and were burned alive, there is not a SINGLE word about the birds themselves. Is it just me or is there something seriously wrong here ?

There was a fire outside London Ont,where thousands of pigs and piglets, burned to death yesterday.
The only tragedy seems to be the money lost:evil:
Pig-"factories" are a horror to begin with,as are most chicken-factories,I don't even want to think about it:sad:

Stories like this give me nightmares...all I can do is just imagine the fear going through them and all the babies just born:( ....AS FOR the story making it out to the public....Inverness, are you really shocked...As far as I'm concerned its consistant with how humans usually react... as humans we have never been givers...only takers.
If you have time you should read a wonderful book called..."Ishmael"...(not sure about spelling)...Its a great book on human nature seen through the eyes of a gorilla

It must have been horrible, the smell, the fear, the birds trying to escape, I mean, why not at least try and let them out ? But maybe it all happened too quickly, but hey, just a simple "poor birds" in the article would have made me feel a little better.

Chico, the pigs, they must have screamed and screamed and screamed. How can anyone bear to hear something like that ?

Say, is there anyway I can add a "T" to the word "THOUGHT" in my title ? I tried editing, but it doesn't seem to change the title itself. Or should I just live forever with my spelling mistake ?

Edited to say: Thanks Dragonfly for my T. :o
