Recipes for a dog with Pancreatitis

Hi All

I am from down Under (Aust) and my Aust Terr x Toto has been diagnosed with acute pancreatitis which is going to occur all thru out his life. He is turning 14 in Oct.

Anyway I am wondering if anyone had recipes (meal/treats/biscuits) that I can cook up for him as he is getting bored with his food and I want to give him more variety

Can anybody help please????

Sorry to hear about the pancreatitis though :(
I'm guessing that the requirements of his diet is low fat and "bland"

Phoenix posted a great liver treat recipe a while back, and while liver is anything but low-fat, I have tried the recipe using chicken, and it works really well:


1. Chicken treats
1 lb chicken
2 cups brown rice flour
1 T. garlic powder

Puree chicken a la baby food (mix chicken with 1/4 cup water, broth or apple sauce+water, add to food processer). Add flour and garlic powder and puree, adding water if necessary. Spread into 10 x 13" pan with sides (line with parchment paper). Bake at 300 for 30 minutes for soft treats. Cut into tiny squares. For hard treats, bake another 30 minutes. It is important to cut into squares after the first 30 minutes, otherwise you will have one big square that is impossible to cut! Keep in freezer.
