One word.... SOCIALIZATION

Have alot of complaining to do i think.http://bestsmileys.com/frustrated/8.gif I think im having a bad week I dont know, however, today a small dog at camp ( no idea whos dog it was there was no one around) decided that it was going to take Meiko out! I dont think so but anyways, this little dog was just going ballistic on Meik but luckily i got his attention and he started fetching in the lake. Eventually the little dog went on his way.
First of all, WHO WOULD LET such a small dog ( or any for that matter) wander through the bushes like that? What about Coyotes, bears other dogs, ect...?http://bestsmileys.com/scared/5.gif
Secondly, why would this little dog decide to go after a dog that is at least 4 times his size? Obviously not a happy little dog!
THankfully we have just about gotten Meik out of HIS aggression towards other dogs!!!! ( he wasnt well socialized as a pup, my fault) It makes me so proud that he actually walked away from that potential fight and decided that playing fetch was more fun.
SOME PEOPLE I tell ya, dont care at all about their pets!!!!!

I have to admit, I let Charley (small dog, only 15 lbs of fluff) wander in the bush. We've been a number of places, he only gets to wander off leash if there isn't any vehicle traffic and aren't many humans. He doesn't go far though, and always comes when called when he's in a new place. When dusk sets, he always comes back to camp and stays within eye sight of the fire... I'm a camper though and he's been in the bush lots. Maybe this person didn't realise the dog would wander off?!

As far as trying to jump a much larger dog... he's either brave or stupid, my money is on the latter ;)

I am so impresed that litle Meiko didn't try to take him on!

And just have to add I LOVE the animated guy banging his head! Where can I get one?
