Proviodine Solution

Last week I took my male tzu to the Vet as I found a lesion on his head. Since he is just getting over blastomycosis, I was very concerned that it could be relapse. Luckily, it is a bacterial infection and only on the one spot on his head (above his ear).

The Vet doesn't want to put him on antibiotics at the momeny as he just finished 4 months of medications. He said I should use Priviodine solution, twice a day to keep it clean and if it doesn't disappear in a week, then they will have no choice but to use anitbiotics. Or if another lesion appears, then definitely antibiotics.

My question is......does anyone know of any reason why I should NOT use this solution?

None from me. It's the best alternative to peroxide and alcohol. Where peroxide and alcohol kill ALL the cells around the wound while they disinfect, proviodine doesn't. It cleans without removing the good, helpful cells. It doesn't sting either.:)
