dog disease

hello all, recently a new family moved next door. i just arrived home and found their puppy running around in my yard. the problem is he has a terrible case of the mainge (i hope it is spelled correctly). i plan to talk with the owners as soon as they arrive. meanwhile i have no choice but to keep my dogs inside. i need to know what treatment i can put down to ward the dog away. i do not want my dogs to contract the disease. just this morning my wife and i treated one of them for a tick. we keep them clean and always supervised. i plan to put up a privacy fence but for now i would appreciate any suggestions. thanks in advance.

there are two types of mange - one contagious, the other not. I would be more concerned about the neighbours letting their puppy run loose and unsupervised.

The fence will keep your dogs safe - I hope your neighbours will take the same steps with their puppy.

I would phone the SPCA for the pup's sake as the owners don't seem very responsible.
