Ok saw a couple of references to raw diet.. Where does one go to find a balanced and nutritional menu and recipes to feed a raw diet? Does the menu or recipes change depending on the breed? This sounds very interesting and since I stay at home, I have plenty of time to feed this way.

one of the best references on the web is http://www.rawfed.com/. the list of myths are very educational, and you also have some visuals as well as links to other great raw-feeding sites.
http://rawfeddogs.net/ for lots of photos & great recipes!
now if you have any specific questions... lots of folks here are ready to answer you :)
edited to add: http://www.rawlearning.com/responsetopeck.html - interesting reading material, lots to chew on!

I own 3 golden retrievers and have always fed them dry dog food (good for teeth, my vets have told me). I have a friend who suggested raw food - less carbs, better for their wolf-like digestive system, he says. I've never heard of serving dogs raw food. What are the health pros & cons, compared with the dry food I buy in the supermarket every week?

Go back and read some of the links posted in this thread. As well, go over to the raw food section and have a gander there.
