Hello,

I am looking for a good dog shelter in Montreal, possibly in the Cote Des Neiges/Outremont area. We need to lodge a dog somewhere and we're looking for a good shelter - possible not very expensive - close to us.

Thank you,

Sebastian

You mean a kennel right? A shelter is more of a permanent thing...;)

Umm... Montreal dogs is expensive! $25 for the night and another $25 for daycare (unless you don't mind him sitting in a cage all day). There are better options, IMO.;)

IF you want to take a drive, there is Country Meadows out near Rigaud. Nice place. Boarding is 17$ a day including taxes, and 3$ extra if you want your dog taken for a little walk each day.

That one looks better... You pay $5 for 20 minutes of supervised play... I'd much rather that.;)

There are two near the Dorval airport. Langill's is very clean and the people are very nice. There is also another place called Kaniska or something like that. I used it once but wasn't too impressed.

copperbelle, that is Manoir Kanisha. my friend used them for her 2 akitas for 10 days, they were very filthy after the stay, thin, and both caught kennel cough, needed antibiotics cuz it was so bad. she will never go there again. :yuck:

Wow, I didn't want to influence anyone with my experience there but it sounds like the place is not as good as the owner portrays it to be.

Thanks for your replies. Those are nice places but they're expensive and far from our location (we don't have a car).

We're still looking for a place for Caius (the dog). We were thinking about letting him stay with someone with a backyard, someone who has experience with dogs like him (doberman, very dominating, needs human presence all the time). We would obviously pay this person. If you know anybody who lives in Montreal and who has these conditions, please let me know.
