My wife got up this morning and noticed something different about alexis (German shepherd 9 yrs old) alexis tried to stand up finally managed and was very wobbly. Her tongue was hanging out it was purpleish black as well as her gums. As I was preparing to take her to the hospital she made it to the water and drank as if she hadnt for a week. After 5 min she was fine. Just less active she is normally playful and active like a puppy. She was flown over to us from Germany, she has a strong pedigree that dates back to 1970She was my wifes search and rescue partner until she was retired at the age of 7 she is very special to us as well as our 4 rescues. Does anybody know what happened and how we can prevent it from reoccuring. THANK YOU!
