My wife got up this morning and noticed something different about alexis (German shepherd 9 yrs old) alexis tried to stand up finally managed and was very wobbly. Her tongue was hanging out it was purpleish black as well as her gums. As I was preparing to take her to the hospital she made it to the water and drank as if she hadnt for a week. After 5 min she was fine. Just less active she is normally playful and active like a puppy. She was flown over to us from Germany, she has a strong pedigree that dates back to 1970She was my wifes search and rescue partner until she was retired at the age of 7 she is very special to us as well as our 4 rescues. Does anybody know what happened and how we can prevent it from reoccuring. THANK YOU!

Even though the dog appears to have returned to normal, please take her to the vet. Better safe than sorry.

Yes a vet is the only one who can answer these questions. Please post when you have an update. We will keep our fingers crossed for you.
