We brought home a 3 month old Akita pup 3 days ago.
He was eating heartily, voiding on a regular basis until today.
Today he got up and has refused his food, has peed once and had diahrrea once.
The *only* thing I can think of is that we got him new dog treats last night for training purposes, and this behavior has started since then.
Is this something we should "ride out" or should we pay our vet a visit?

It's only been this one day?

Yes, only this one day. Am I overreacting?

Better to overreact than not react at all.;) Yes, the treats could have upset his stomach if he never had them before.
Make sure he is drinking, and give him something very bland, like boiled chicken (or hamburger) and rice if he still has diarrhea.
Young puppies can get dehydrated very easily, so if he not drinking enough and continues to not want to eat longer than a couple days, call your vet.
You might also want to use the boiled chicken pieces as treats for now.

Thank you for your reassurance. This is actually almost exactly what my husband said, so now that you've backed him up, I'll listen. :D

Yes all will work and even itself out.
Lots of adjustments here and there but you'll learn and all will be well :)

Thanks to everyone for all the helpful comments and suggestions! Puppy is doing fine and dandy this morning. Eating, drinking, playing and tinkling. I'm sure that now that he's eating, he'll get back on a regular schedule.
