Could it be asthma?

My 4 year old Pomeranian seems to be having breathing issues. At first I thought it was just a reverse sneeze but now Im not so sure.

This usually happens after or during some hard playing, last night my bf was playing with him and he started to wheeze and possibly reverse sneeze. He seemed to get a little paniky but I managed to calm him down and he soon was able to breath normally again.

Does this sound like asthma or just some crazy reverse sneezing? I have no idea what the signs are!

We are heading to the vet soon, its his anual check-up this month also, so two birds with one stone. I was just wondering if these sound like symptoms of asthma or something completely different.
