Hi all. My 10 yr old Akita/shep X was peeing orange fluid 23 days ago. I took him to the vet. Here is a summary
His bilirubin count was 94 (Ughh)
The vet said he had less than a week to live, but since then he has made remarkable improvements.
• His urine is back to normal
• His stool appears normal
• He is vibrant and fairly active
• He has regained his appetitie
He still drinks a lot which is common for dogs with liver problems
My question to you all is
Could this be a passed gall bladder stone or could this be a tumor in his gall bladder or liver?
The vet was very surprised when I told him that Storms urine had cleared up and was generally doing much better.
I am giving him antibiotics however the vet suggested that any further testing would only determine the problem, which would at the very least involve very expensive surgery to correct.
My gal is in Finland and would very much like to see "Stormy" make it until she gets back home here to Calgary.
