Hey everyone, i was just wondering the best way to go about showing dogs? Not looking to do so in the near future but I definately would like to do this perhaps once my life settles down more. I would idealy like to show American Cocker Spaniels or Rottweilers. Anyone have any good links on starting up? Just to educate myself more. Also, as far as American Cockers I would be most interested in field trials. Does anyone know of anyone who does this with Cockers? On tv i have seen very few Cockers in feild trials, isnt this what they were origionally bred to do? Its been taken over by Labradors!!!

Personally, getting Cocker Spaniels ready for the ring is a major undertaking.

I know the name of a VERY good rottweiler breeder in Canada. You can pm me for the name, if you want.

The best way to get started would be to find a breeder or two and develop a relationship with them. That way, they know you when you are ready for your show quality puppy, you will know what you are looking for.

Here's some pointers. It's for Westies but applies to any breed.
