New Dog Park needs Help

Hi Everyone!

I created a webpage all by myself... wow! Thats impressive for me! So you probably know about me and my efforts for a dog park in Picton Ontario .... ***

I was also wondering, since we are going to be getting a HUGE loan from the city for this project and we have to pay it back, do you guys have any ideas on some FUN Fundraisers that will attract people? So far we've thought of a wag'n'wash dog wash and nail clipping day, bake sales, yard sales, walk-a-thon and business sponsorships and memberships. But we need some more ideas as these will only get us a portion of the way.

What about dog walking? or a dog walk-a-thon? or a dog agility fun day?

Well done Jasmin - I really like the little paws that shadow the cursor. Well you could have a Dog-a-Palooza day and charge admission: Best-dressed Dog contests, Dog/Owner look-alike contests, ball-throwing contests, dog tricks contest, pet photography, info booths and product/services booths (charge table fees), refreshments on sale...you get the idea. You could approach local businesses and ask them to sponsor some aspect of the park ie. This Bench Brought to You By Tiny's Tea Totaller's or to donate items for an auction/raffle. Have fun !!

well poop. I thought this would be the best place ever to get dog lovers to show support for my park but apparently we're not allowed to do that. Soo my dog park site was removed form my original message. Crap. i guess that means no linking to this site either then.... poo. Well if you look on the dog park list on this site someday, maybe you'll see the name of the park i've been working so hard on. Crap poo.:(

I think it might be because your website recruits members... Maybe.. I'd pm the admin.:)

Well I tried to email the admin but never heard anything back. And I'm not trying to recruit members....from here anyways, I was hoping the locals from around here would become members to the park to show support and help us keep up our website, maintenance and newsletters, special events etc etc. But maybe I'll hear back from somebody soon? Keep my fingers crossed.:fingerscr

I am very interested in seeing your website. I live in London Ont. and we are trying with some difficulty to open a 3rd leash free park but facing opposition. Could you PM me with your website so I can visit your site? I am in charge of events for park openings as well and we did a microchipping clinic that was very well rec'd. Had a lot of pitbulls:D as the timing of BSL was at the same time! Our pleasure!!

We also had a professional dog behaviourist speak at the opening, and that was very well rec'd. And we had the police dog training team come and show us one of their very smart GS's! to everyone's delight and awe!

It was well advertised and extremely well attended.

I forgot to mention.... this is SOOOOOOOOOO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know those Extreme Home maker over shows on TLC???? And the team Home Depot and such ...... well Team Home Depot from a neighboring town here has heard of all the hard work we have been doing and have offered to come together to build our fence! FREEEEEEEEE ! !!!!! :eek: :eek: We just have to supply the products but they will give us the free labour and free equipment use! I can't believe it! I almost peed my pants in histerics! WOW! That's going to cut our fundraising costs almost in half! How amazing is that?????? I am soooo excited.. I KNOW I won't be able to sleep tonight. EEEEEEEEEEE!!! :D :thumbs up :thumbs up :thumbs up
