just read this link about xylitol on another board. I haven't done any research on it yet but thought it was important because we know what are angels are like.
the article can be found at www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/forum.cgi?read=85679

Interesting - thanks for the info and I for one would appreciate hearing back from you on the results of your research (while I was out with the others just now, one of my little  's took a juice container off the counter in the kitchen and into the livingroom, managed to get the plastic screw cap off and pour cranberry juice all over his bed and the floor - so yessirree - given the chance they will get into ANYTHING and EVERYTHING !).:pawprint: :thumbs up

I got this from dogAge.com (they send you email updates about doggy news, etc).
Xylitol, a sugar-free sweetener commonly found in candy and gum, could quickly cause low blood sugar, impaired muscle coordination, and seizures in dogs. Seek immediate medical attention if you suspect your dog has ingested this substance. To avoid a trip to the vet, keep bags, backpacks, and the other places you stash xylitol-sweetened treats out of reach.
