woodysdad
March 1st, 2006, 02:55 PM
This is Woody's successor (Pet health probs...dog not eating). His name is Buddy and he is two years old. He is at the same rescue centre as Woody came from, and will be with us on Friday.

We hope we can give him a happy and healthy life.

That's wonderful! I don't know how it is over there, but here, 2 year old yellow labs don't get adopted out as easily as their cuddly puppy counterparts... I'm so glad you opted for an adult doggy. What a lucky doggy.:)

Good luck with everything. :) Congratulations.:highfive:

I'm so glad that you found a new friend to take in. It makes life a little more bearable, to have a special friend.

Well, Buddy arrived, and has settled in well. He explored the house, then played with toys and enjoyed some treats. He settled down in his bed, but migrated to the livingroom couch during the night. He is becoming more confident, and has enjoyed some (short) walks.:)

Buddy was at the vet's today for his neutering op. He got through it perfectly, and is now sleeping. He appears to have a little discomfort but still wags his tail. Being a rescue dog, I think he thought he was being abandoned again when we left him. The vet told us he was quite aggresive and asked me to collect him from the post-op room as they were unable to get the leash on him. Whenever I entered and called his name, he came forward and got lots of strokes. I think he's over the moon that we actually came back for him!
A few days rest and he will be back to normal!

Aww,poor Buddy thought that was it for him,again...I can understand that.
But I am happy everything went fine, neutering usually does not cause any problems.

Hello all!
Well, Buddy has got over his op as you can see here http://s73.photobucket.com/albums/i201/woodysdad/?action=view&current=Buddy3wmv.flv

Sorry about the quality, this was shot at 10.30 pm on Tuesday evening when he had his nightly football session! He enjoys it thoroughly, although the piece of wood he found was a close second.
Thanks for all you interest and comments. Hope to have more photos soon

I love that "walk a few paces, look up, look for dad, back to forward movement, oops here's a spot to pee". He looks so very happy to be where he is, and you've made me homesick for the UK (in a good way) :)

I love that "walk a few paces, look up, look for dad, back to forward movement, oops here's a spot to pee". :)

Nope, it's the doggie version of dropping breadcrumbs - so he can find his way back if need be.
