Coupons, flyers, junk mail

Do you like receiving coupons and special offers in the mail? Some people like to clip them.. and I know they do offer some savings. I think I used to clip certain things, but now they all go straight into my recyling box. The only coupons I use are the ones I see in the supermarket.
Seperating and sorting all these endless flyers that are in my newspapers and in my mailbox doesnt take long...but for me, they just represent a nuisance.
Guess I am not a big enough consumer.:D

My fiancee (I can finally say that now... hee hee) waits patiently for teh lady to deliver 'his' flyers. Then sorts through them and points to all the great deals. I don't get but I humour him. He clips maybe once and a blue moon. His favourites are the Canadian Tire coupons thatgive him 6X 7X or 8X the mount of canadian tire money when he buys gas. Hes made 100 already and is saving for the big massive 50 (maybe not 50) grill bbq that he always wanted.

I put all the junk mail coupons into the credit card offer envelopes and mail them to the credit card companies. My way of junk mailing the junk mailers. :D

The only thing I look forward to is the semi annual Victoria's secret catalogue... Other than that, it's all trash.

I love flyer day!! I just like to look at all the stuff on sale to see if something I really want is a good deal.

Be careful about trashing those credit card offers. Many of them are pre-printed with your name/address and other info, and if you throw it out, someone can take it, complete it, and comit identity theft by getting a credit card in your name. You should shred any credit card offers you get.

I'm with you, Raingirl! I live for my Friday afternoon paper with all the flyers in it. Even if I can't afford to buy anything, I love to "flyer shop". :D

Oh, good advice about those credit card offers. I shred mine all the time, especially when they send me those cheques.

Paper junk mail doesn't offend me much. Now, talk to me about those stupid offers for "male perfomance enhancing" drugs that I get in e-mail at least 5-6 times a day, especially the ones with the little porno cartoons...   Those really get under my skin.

And with the dollar at 88 cents US, let's go shopping.
landsend.com also has great specials, not as spicy as VS but great cotton stuff.

I clip the usefull coupons (things I buy on a regular basis), especially any for kitty litter. I HATE paying $10 for a box of scented sand.

all "sensitive" material - any offers from a credit company or such goes into the fire-box. we use those papers to start fires in the wood stove... even better than a shredder.

jjgeonerd, I do that too!!! I save those prepaid envelopes and send them junk mail from other companies. I figure, hey, they already paid the postage, may as well use it!

Gazoo... I now have a very scary mental image!

As for the flyers, my recycling box lives under the mailbox so I go sort sort, drop, sort, drop.. before bothering to walk in the house with the mail. I do check out home depot in the spring and toysrus for things for the kids for outdoors but that's about it.

For sure! When I was in grad school someone stole my mail and wrote $12,000 in those credit card checks. Imagine my surprise when I openend my CC statement! They then stole my replacement card and tried to use it! The CC company took care of me though...apparently that is a pretty common occurence.

You can call your CC company and ask them not to send the checks. It takes a couple months to take effect, but its well worth the call IMO. I haven't received those things since then!

junk mail? it's the only mail that I get that doesn't make my head want to explode, everybody else wants me to give them money. At least when I buy something from the canadian tire flyer I want to give them my cash, as opposed to having to. I'm still wainting for that check from readers digest.;)
