I found this website, www.softpaws.com which I thought might interest some people. If you are having problems with your cats clawing furniture etc. this might be a good alternative. Just thought I'd let people know about this site!:pawprint:

They aren't a new concept, they've been around for a decent length of time. Some cats do well with them, other cats hate them and pull them off.
You are better off teaching your cat to scratch appropriate places instead.

They do look like they might be a bit uncomfortable. It looked as though they separated the toes a little. I know my cats would hate them.:yuck:

Yep, these have been around for a few yrs now and they work with some cats but even then require replacing. There is no alternative to decalwing - ity shoudl just never be considered. The best thing is to teach your kitty to use her scratching post and have lots of toys and give her lots of attention. Most cats do just fine!!! I am not a fan of these - unless it is absolutely necessary for some reason - but many ppl seem to have probs with them and not all kitties like them. A few do - read the research (not the info by the people who sell them but by objective vet journals) - they have found some interesting results. And I mean vets who refuse to declaw!!!!
