A guy at my work is looking for a Siberian Husky to rescue. He even said he would be willing to foster!!!!
If anyone knows of any rescues or info I can pass on to him, or rescues in and around the Calgary area that have Siberian Husky's that would be great.
I have already done the whole "Husky's are not for everyone" speech and he has been spending his lunch hours reading up at Chapters book store.
Thanks!

If your friend wants to take a drive, there are ton of huskies in WA. There are a ton precisely because people get them after watching "Snow Dogs" and dump them due to their high energy and exercise needs, so it's good that you are educating him!:)
Check out this rescue, and look at "Thunder" - sounds like a good dog for a first time husky owner, but of course still needs training, exercise and attention.

Thanks Lucky, I copied and pasted your reply. I forgot all about that snow dogs movie. Im sure if he cant make the drive to the states he could jsut wait a couple weeks and they will be dumped everywhere  how sad.
Hopefully he will find a dog for him, maybe he will go get thunder :fingerscr
Thanks again

Released today and I am going to see it tonight: Eight Below, a Walt Disney flick. I was thinking the same thing.....after this movie, EVERYONE out there will want a Husky or Malamute!
Don't worry, I already own one so I won't be going out to get another just yet:p . He's a real go-getter and keeps my Pyr and my Collie/Chow in good shape! as well as me:D
I also bring his new Husky girlfriend, Diamond, over for added fun:crazy:
Never a dull momentat my house!
