Looking for Vizsla

I never heard of them either but I would seek out a reputable breeder - ask shows and people involved in those kind of events or good rescues.

Happy New Year!! Hoping to start it off right by getting a Vizsla pupppy. Looking for reputable breeder but not too much $$$ in Ontario, Quebec or northern US. Will not show and will spay/neuter.

Now I know,beautiful dog..if you google Vizsla you'll find all kinds of breeders..

Vislas are beautiful dogs! If you go with a breeder - which you will probably have to - make sure they health test and have shown any breeding dogs to a title. IF neither has been done, look elsewhere. Don't be looking for bargain because it's either "pay me now or pay me later". Get a written guarantee and do your homework!:)

Also make sure that the breeder has had their dogs Good Citizenship tested... Vizsla's can be tricky temperament wise! They are a challenge to own and will constantly test you. Simply gorgeous animals though! :D

Much like their cousins the Weimerainers (sp?), they need a LOT of attention, training and exercise, otherwise they become despondent and destructive. Gorgeous dogs tho, good luck and petfinder.com has wonderful links to Vizsla rescues :)

PS Fortunately, Vizlas are much smoother than Weims and not that much a handful !

What you need to know is that this breed can be a bit pricey.Your looking at $1000+....And you will probably be put on a waiting list.And screened BIG time.Research this breed first.

Vizslas are also a bit smaller then the Weim.
