I never heard of them either but I would seek out a reputable breeder - ask shows and people involved in those kind of events or good rescues.

Looking for VizslaCyberKitten November 18th, 2003, 12:44 PM I never heard of them either but I would seek out a reputable breeder - ask shows and people involved in those kind of events or good rescues. osky December 31st, 2005, 03:13 PM Happy New Year!! Hoping to start it off right by getting a Vizsla pupppy. Looking for reputable breeder but not too much $$$ in Ontario, Quebec or northern US. Will not show and will spay/neuter. chico2 December 31st, 2005, 03:48 PM What on earth is a Vizsla?,I have to google that one:D and Happy New Year to you too:) chico2 December 31st, 2005, 03:50 PM Now I know, beautiful dog..if you google Vizsla you'll find all kinds of breeders.. Lucky Rescue December 31st, 2005, 04:48 PM Vislas are beautiful dogs! If you go with a breeder - which you will probably have to - make sure they health test and have shown any breeding dogs to a title. IF neither has been done, look elsewhere. Don't be looking for bargain because it's either "pay me now or pay me later". Get a written guarantee and do your homework!:) BMDLuver December 31st, 2005, 06:28 PM Also make sure that the breeder has had their dogs Good Citizenship tested... Vizsla's can be tricky temperament wise! They are a challenge to own and will constantly test you. Simply gorgeous animals though! :D jawert1 December 31st, 2005, 06:50 PM Much like their cousins the Weimerainers (sp?), they need a LOT of attention, training and exercise, otherwise they become despondent and destructive. Gorgeous dogs tho, good luck and petfinder.com has wonderful links to Vizsla rescues :) Ford January 4th, 2006, 01:57 PM *bump due to posting date error* Inverness January 4th, 2006, 09:15 PM This is a very serious breeder and a lovely lady. Veillette Jacqueline. Breeding for versatile companions: conformation, obedience, field or agility. Excellent temperament. Puppies occasionally. 1165 rue de la Sapinière, Cap-Rouge, QC G1Y 1A1. (418-658-6025; e-mail: akar@videotron.qc.ca). PS Fortunately, Vizlas are much smoother than Weims and not that much a handful ! mona_b January 4th, 2006, 10:11 PM Here are a few breeders. http://www.highpointvizslas.com/index.html http://www.egertonvizslas.com/index.html http://www.toldin.com/ What you need to know is that this breed can be a bit pricey.Your looking at $1000+....And you will probably be put on a waiting list. And screened BIG time.Research this breed first. Vizslas are also a bit smaller then the Weim. | ||||
