What were you doing, kitties?

When I came home from shopping today, there were three cats sitting outside the apartment building--one right beside the driveway (that didn't move as I drove the car right past him!), one on top of the fence beside the place, and one sitting under him next to the fence. They looked well-fed, but I couldn't help thinking "what if", so I poured some kitty food on the concrete for them as a late "Christmas dinner." They ate it, but they were so friendly and sleek that I'm sure they have homes.

But I can't figure out why they were all sitting around here to begin with. At first I thought maybe they were males attracted to my neighbor's cat (they haven't spayed her because "she's an indoor-only cat"), but then I realized one of the cats was a calico. So it was probably female, right?

It was weird, I've never seen any cats outside in the neighborhood before. Maybe they were having a convention. :D

Or, maybe, with all the holiday stuff going on and visitors in the home, they slipped out the door.

Maybe they just sensed the cat-friendly vibe coming from your place???

Isn't a "kitty convention" called a "plot session"? Could be that the owner went away for a while and threw them all outside (didn't somebody post that they were going to do that while they were gone for the holidays?)

Or maybe, just maybe the Calico was in heat and there is no way the males will leave, with the prospect the other male will...you know what, get lucky!!:D
