Ice Gel makes him crazy! Why? Please Help!

My five year old cat, Bobby, goes INSANE when he smells Ice Gel (that blue stuff you rub on sore muscles). He acts like he is high, the same as he does on catnip. He meows like he's mad, he tries to eat it and lick it off me, he rolls around on his back, he love bites and purrs. It is CRAZY!! Does anybody know why Ice Gel makes him act this way? Please help! My boyfriend won't even use it, because he is scared of Mr. Bob when he is high. [Bobby is not allowed to have cat nip - well, sometimes a tiny bit, because one day he was high and I said to him "Bobby get him" and pointed to my boyfriend, and shockingly, Bobby really went after him! It was hilarious (Bob didn't hurt him - but he was really scared?)]

Certain smells do seem to make cats nuts! Don't worry about it - one of my cats used to get high and crazy when I gave him an olive.;)
