Can 2 female betas be kept in same tank or are they aggressive with one another like the males are?

Hi there,
Female Bettas are not aggressive towards conspecifics in the
way that males are. Occassionally some females will fight a little,
but on the whole they are mostly peaceful towards each other.
Introduce all the females into the tank at the same time if possible.
This will prevent any territory aggression.
Many females can be kept together. It is commonly called a "Betta Sorority".

Thanks for the info. My neighbour gave me a beautiful pink/rose beta (kids got bored with her) so put her with my guppies and everything seems fine - no aggression - so I thought I might add another female. My tank is so colourful, canary yellow male guppy, navy, burgandy & silver guppies and this beautiful beta.

Are you sure this is a female as they are usually fairly plain.

Agree with Stacey, female Bettas are usually very dull looking, and are usually more of a "purple" colour. If the fins are flowey, and the fish is quite beautiful, then you most likely have a male. Placing another male, or even a female, in the same tank will result in a HUGE fish fight. It's not pretty to watch and can end in both fish dying.

Female bettas these days come in a wide assortment
of colors. They can be bright pink (very common), purple (also very common), purple red, red, green, blue and g reen, gold, silver, yellow,
and even wild forms, like brown with reddish and white stripes. They also come in more sought after colors, like brass, mustard gas, melano, etc. Hundreds of different colors and tail shapes.
They also come in different fin shapes such as halfmoon, delta,
and crowntail etc, but their fins arent as large and showy as the males.
Also, there are several different species of betta readily available:
betta splendens, betta plakat, betta cambodia, betta imbellis, betta coccina, betta smaragdina, betta picta, betta pugnax, etc etc. There are literally dozens of species.
Heres some different colors:
