LOL Boo eats so much we have to let him out 30 min later to pee for 5 minutes.:D

I haven't figured out if they understand the difference between drinking and eating snow. If you stop it, will there be consequences with drinking?

As long as they dont eat the yellow snow. :D

Joey it eats it too. It must be the dog version of a slushy.

It's insane how much Dodger has to pee from eating snow! Thank heavens he's not the only one who is so crazy! He needs to go out at least an extra 6 times a day in the winter:rolleyes: !

Same with my Eskimo. Takes in I am sure more than his body weight - and then has to go again fast. Of course ice cold snow makes the need all the more urgent. Very frustrating since we only go out together on a leash. Fresh snow is bad enough, but once salt is added to the mix - and of course the big chunks of ice - bigger than his 22 lb. throat - but not bigger than his mouth.

buster is the first dog I've ever met that HATES snow. He HATES it. He won't pick up his toys if there's snow on them -- he just bats them around trying to get the white poison off of them :D

We had our first substantial snow here in VA (which amounted to all of 3 inches maybe) and Peaches loves it, can't get enough. However Simon doesn't tolerate it at all, even with his muttluks on and expects me to carry him (which I've done once before we started covering his feet). Talk about Prissy Pointer :p

with regards to eating snow, you should watch how much your dog eats as it can cause bloat...or so I was told when working at a vet clinic...if anyone knows different please say cause I hate to give flase info..but that is what I understood, we had one dog in from bloat which they believed was from eating too much snow. just some advice :) ..my puppy loves to play in the snow...and when it snows it is the only time my older dog will pee in the backyard...go figure..lol

Bloat is still mysterious, but I'd say it's really possible to get bloat from eating too much snow. There's a lot of air in snow... I know Jemma gets burpy after eating too much. And on top of that, they eat it while they're running to get even more air...
