I'm suprised no one has started a snow thread yet today! We got 41cm here, most snow in one day since 1971! Of course I had to take Kayla to the river, we had a blast :D Here's some pics. I know there are other snow pics from today out there, let's see them!

Bounding through the snow, the only way she could get anywhere!

And the river which I usually can't keep her out of, not looking too inviting these days!

Normally I would find that "who's gonna get the snowball" one cute, but Jemma and Boo bucked heads two years ago trying to get a snowball and Jemma lost her front tooth. I'm spooked now... I won't throw snowballs unless I only have one doggy near me...

I still don't have a digital, or you'd see pics of Jemma going insane in the snow. She ran around in the snow for an hour straight and then spent the afternoon coughing up bits of tree and melted snow that she'd eaten while running... She ran way too hard. It was nice though. You can't not like snow when your baby loves it so much...

Chloe was a bit reluctant at first...

Chloe, what a sexy coat!! I saw it before, but not in action...

Shannon, I know what you mean.. Jemma is half husky (we think/hope) and she is nuts in the snow. And when she's not outside, she's lying in the window wishing she was.

Actually, we have 12 dogs. Some were not on the pic cause they were complaining about being too cold and they were waiting by the door to go in (Pointers are real sissies...) ! We are also fostering 2 little Fox Terriers from the Blainville puppy mill - one is on the pic - see why I said I cannot always pick up after my dogs in another thread ? ;)

Absolutely not ! We have a home. Maybe not a normal one, but a home anyways ! My dogs need a couch to be happy. They would get completely depressed in a kennel ! :king:

Dodger has always been fine with ice but just yesterday he found a HUGE chunk and actually started chewing it until I noticed he was making his gums bleed:( ...I've never seen him do something like that - usually he likes to carry it around, drop it and watch it break...

Sorry no Harley pics...He is not allowed yet to play. But let me tell you how hard it was not to let him run and play with all the crying he did. This is his favorite season. It killed me not to let him. Only starting Jan 1st can he, that is if everything is ok by then

Oh for sure! I love my girl, but when she's on her latest "Big Thing", she is relentless. Right now she's in her "Digging in the snow is my Life" phase.:p

Rick C, I am blown away by your pics. Don't know if anyone asked this, but are you a professional photographer? What kind of camera do you use?

Thanks. . . . . a lot of great photos in this thread.

I'm not a professional.

I use a Panasonic DMC FZ20 5.1 megapixel, 35-420 zoom. It bounces real good off the gravel but it's missing part of the casing right now from some disaster I've subjected it to and now I have genuine duct tape covering it up. The newest Panasonic, the FZ30, is about 8 megapixels, a step up if you're going that way.

I hear Santa is getting me a high end Canon printer for Christmas/birthday and I hear there is a little flower shop in town that might entertain some framed pics in their shop as an experiment.

Maybe people will like phony photshopped paintings . . . . Keeper mousing . . .

And this one made me feel SO bad...I realized after I took it that he hurt his dew claw somehow. It bled a little, and this pic makes it look like he's saying "AROOO, it hurts mom!" But I know him better than that--it's more like "WOOFWOOFWOOF, keeping throwing that ball, I'm going to try to hide that my nail is bleeding so I can keep playing fetch!" Poor dog, I felt like such a bad mommy. I couldn't even see what he did to it, but it's fine now :)

Prin
December 21st, 2005, 09:03 PM
Hey, Shannon- imagine if he had the big dews in the back? If the little ones can bleed in the snow, the big ones must have a harder time... And you're not a bad mommy. Dogs in the snow lie about the pain. Jemma seizes the moment no matter how hurt she might get. It's kind of inspirational but at the same time a little nutty...

shannonRN
December 22nd, 2005, 02:02 AM
I'm kind of glad they're so impervious to the little bumps and bruises. Once a few years ago he got a toenail stuck in the space between the boards of the deck and crushed that nail entirely. I have never heard a dog make such a terrible sound and I don't want to ever again.

One can't be too choosy when one has fans to keep happy!

I love the one with Boo lined up with the lawn ornaments. And maybe you need to read "The Pokey Little Puppy" to him to remind him of what happens to little puppies who sneak under the fence. (If I remember correctly, they miss out on the cookies or something...it's been a few years!)
