Best place to look for sheltie that needs home

I was going to post this on the adoption listing section, but I wasnt able to so I dont know where else to put this but here..

Anyway, does anyone know of a good place to look at listings for available shelties ? I tried pet finder.. and although it works sometimes, alot of the time it is REALLY irritating and doesnt work..

Does anyone know of any breeders that may also take in rescues? I try and check the humane societies and the ontario based rescues mostly.. but want to know if im missing anyone..

If you feel like driving, the SPCA Monteregie has shelties available for adoption. www.spcamonteregie.com. NOT all animals are on the website.

I found a lovely dog for my husband's aunt this past summer at :

Pom Small Breed Rescue <psbrescue@yahoo.ca>

I found them on Petfinder.com, and they have volunteers all over SW Ontario. I live in London, the dog was in Cambridge, a volunteer from Owen Sound area inspected the aunt's house in Goderich! The dog was transported to Stratford area then to Goderich, so these folks are meticulous and definitely have the dogs' best interests at heart! Sasha and the aunt are very happy together!!!

Sasha the dog is a sheltie!! You can narrow down your search on Petfinder by rescue organization at the top of the website!

I just found 7 in ontario on petfinder. I don't know where you are but you can also check out SOS rescue(Southern Ontario Sheltie Rescue). Look under Shetland Sheepdog vs Sheltie. You will find them this way.

My Neighbour recenlty bought hers from a breeder in Nova Scotia.I can tell you they are currenlty about 900 here in Ontario .they paid 700 and had Oliver flowen to Ottawa for 100$..If you would like me to find out exactly where she got him and are willing to pay that much i can certily find out for you.!

Thank you so much for sharing the Strays.com link when I clicked on it I saw Whisky (the sheltie) and I fell in love I immediatly called my parents who are semi retired and looking for a wee mate..it happends to be Whisky and my parents are in the same town I have now contacted them and pls keep your finger crossed!:fingerscr !
