Stray cat pregnant?

Hi,

I have taken in a beautiful little cat that has been wandering around my house for the last few weeks. She is small, very skinny, but also very pregnant I believe, this was my #1 reason for taking her in. I did not want her to have these babies outside especially since the weather seems to be getting colder each day.

My only reason for questioning if in fact she is pregnant is because I know nothing of her history. Her belly is very swollen and her nipples are sticking out quite a lot. Is there anything else that may cause this? Or is she indeed pregnant?

Also, if she is pregnant are there any signs I can watch for to know when she will have the babies? And, considering that she is young, will she have troubles with what needs to be done with the babies? I believe she is younger than my cat, who is 10 months old. She's still much smaller.

Thank you for any advice you may have.

So nice of you to take the cat in. what a wonderful good deed!

I hope you do decide to keep her...and have her spayed.

There are good articles and information on this site on exactly what you're looking for.

Here are 3 of them
