cat vomiting ;not sick

December 8th, 2005, 05:59 PM
my cat's former owner passed away. She was a stray for about 6 months. She was very thin when i took her in a month ago.She is very hungry all the time. She is vomiting about an hour after she eats that I've noticed the last three days. I don't know how long this has been happening. There is no indication of illness or diarrhea. She seems healthy so should I be concerned about the vomiting? Thank you. Faith

A cat who vomits after every meal is not healthy, no matter how she appears.

In her 6 months outside she could have contracted any number of intestinal parasites, disease or worms.

You need to take a stool sample to the vet, along with the cat for a checkup.

Thank you so much for your reply. I am not good at this computer stuff. Since I posted my concern about the cat, I have learned that she did have an owner on the next block. The cat is doing fine as of today and the owner has had the cat to the vet, to update her shots and because I am new to cat ownership, she assured me that it was a fur ball problem. Now the cat has gained weight . Happily Katie is now my cat, per the owners permission.
Thanks again, Faith
