Was at the pet supply store today and noticed they had Merrick food.
I remembered what you said and got a can of Grammy's Pot Pie as a treat for Chloe.
Both of us were drooling after I opened it, and Chloe actually twirled and jumped for joy as I put it in her dish!
I think she beat her all-time "Scarf it Down" record as she inhaled it.
I know what I"m getting her for Christmas!! Yum!

LOL Wait till you try the others...:D They're just insane. Yesterday I wanted soup and we didn't have any and I was seriously (for just a flash) considering opening one of the soupier ones.. I was thinking, "There isn't much difference between this and Campbell's Chunky soup, right?" :o Needless to say, I didn't do it...
Try the Cowboy Cookout and the Wild Buffalo Grill... Those are my.. uh, Jemma and Boo's favorites.:D

I saw this post yesterday, and it got me to thinking about buying some of the Merrick's canned for Harley. After all, Prin's never led me astray yet!!!
A local store carries it, and I was just standing there looking at all the varieties, wondering what to pick. In the end, I just started picking up the cans and shaking them, because I seem to remember someone here mentioning the liquidy ones are easier to mix into dry food.
So get this....I bought one each of the Pot Pie, Buffalo Grill and Cowboy Cookout. Too funny!
Anyhow tried a bit of the Cowboy Cookout in Harley's dish last night mixed with her kibble...she LOVED it. And it smells fantastic. Stuff smells like beef stew!!!! :p

It's crazy, eh? I've bought the Wellness canned food and my doggies wouldn't eat it. With Merrick, whenever I say "can", they go crazy. I'm glad there is a dog food out there that makes humans want a taste (not that we ever do), but it's a far cry from feeding them crap.:)

Dick van Patten himself was in the news last week, eating some of this dog food to prove how good it was!! check it out: http://edition.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/TV/12/01/people.dickvanpatten.ap/index.html :D

Chloe will eat anything with gusto, but she never jumps and whirls like she did when she caught a whiff of the Merrick, like she was saying "OHBOYOBOYOHBOY!!!!":p My little piglet!
My SIL has a very picky Chi who won't eat dog food. I wonder if he would eat this?
Or maybe the Dick Van Patten one, since it comes in small cans...I will suggest it!

Merrick's got small cans too... They're either 1/2 or 1/4 cans (I haven't done the math). They're really new, so it might just take a bit till they get into stores...

Merrick's small tins are almost as costly as the large sized tins which is why some retailers are not stocking them. LR, where did you find Merrick out this way? I'm having a devil of a time finding it near me.. seems I have to travel to get it and my gang really loves it.

I must agree on the cans looking edible for humans!
I can imagine a situation where the unknowing person in the house will open a can to eat if they didn't read the small print! The names are enough to make our mouths water.

where did you find Merrick out this way?
I got it at Ani-Gourmet on Harwood, just off exit 26. That's not really close for you, but you can also get it at:
Le Reveil du Maitre
4850 Boulevard St. Jean, Pierrefonds
3343-F Boulevard Des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux

ahhh, didn't know she was stocking Merrick now, that's great. I'm feeding it exlusively canned but still have trouble obtaining the kibble without going to Westmount for it. Does she stock kibble as well? Thanks LR.

That's kinda dumb that they're the same price... Kind of like the case of cans that saves you 3 cents a can- Not much savings there...
