cheasapeake/golden retriever mix puppy

We are looking for a cheasapeake/golden retriever mix puppy. I'm in Brockville, Ontario. We recently lost our wonderful dog Sheamus, and are missing him terribly. We of course thought he was perfect, kind, gentle, loving, intellegent and loyal. We know that we can't replace him, but all other type of dog just won't do. We are empty nesters, and I am missing those velvet ears to snuggle into.

Please reply if you know where we can get another puppy like him.

Welcome to the board. So sorry for your loss.:(

There are many, many homeless dogs who are kind, gentle, loving and loyal. Any of them would be so grateful to have the kind of wonderful home you have to offer!:)

Chesapeakes are not an overly common breed and the mix you want may be very difficult to find. Even if you do, there is no guarantee this dog would be anything like your Sheamus.

Take a look at all the wonderful dogs needing homes on Petfinder. You may see another dog who catches your eye!

I noticed you asked the same question 3 times... Just to save you time, you don't have to do that. New posts show up in the "new posts" so we all see them easily.:)

Prin, thank you. I have never been on a site like this before, and had a very difficult time finding what I had typed. So in desperation typed 3. I am better aquainted with this concept now, and hopefully won't mess up again. Just desperately want a puppy.

I did go to the site that you suggested, and yes there are many, many wonderful puppies that need good homes. Unfortionately, I live in Brockville, Ontario, Canada, and there were no puppies in my area. Many, many from New York state, and other states in the US. I don't know, or don't think that they would allow me to adopt and bring across the border.

Thank you for your concern.

Lots of rescues will allow long distance adoptions. All you need to bring a dog over the border is a rabies vaccination certificate.

If you see a puppy you like, contact the rescue. All you have to lose is the time it takes to send an email or make a phone call.:)

I did see a couple of adorable pups in New York State, I will e-mail.

Thank you for your advice.

If the puppy you are looking at is under 3 months old I don't even think you will be required to have the rabies vaccine to cross the border.

to bring a pup across the border under 3 months, you need a signed paper from where every you've rescued it , stating the pup in in good health and has been checked by a vetrinarian.
