What Keeper saw . . . . and a Chinook sunset

Part relevant, part off-topic . . . . .

Abby and Keeper and me were out west of Calgary for the picture below, walking up to Windy Point in Kananaskis Country. The road below is closed from December 15 through to late Spring and has no exit. It just hits the mountains and stops. That's Keeper in the picture. . . . . a guy had a big fight with a cougar right around there in the Spring.

A Chinook Arch (the cloud formation) on our side of the mountains, a local weather phenomenon that can send temperatures soaring in Calgary in mid-winter, made for a very warm Saturday and a gorgeous sunset . . . . .

Early sunset

Late sunset, same clouds . . . . note the shadows from the underlying clouds hitting the upper layer near the edge:

Awsome pictures Rick C. We have been getting awsome weather in AB for this time of the year. I can remeber 2 years ago the Heritage day Classic. It was like -30 Celsius or something crazy.

Well, since y'all like them, for amusement, myself under the fading sunset as taken by my brother . . . .

And my brother-in-law earlier, silhouetted . . . nice Slavic head!!

Its fun to take pictures when conditions are like that . . . .
