What's with tape?

Hi,

Two of my cats are tape crazy and will tear and try to eat any tape on boxes, etc. they come across. I know some glues are derived from animal products, but I thought any 'taste' of animal would have long been purged. But, could I be wrong and that taste is what is driving them mad??

Cats try to eat all kinds of strange things - tinsel, elastic, thread and in your case, tape.

Lucky is right - and as anadded bonus, many cats, Siamese and orientals esp for some reason I do not recall, really like the smell of glue so whatever adhesive is on the tape may appeal to your kitties. Unless it is a real problem (they have long hair and the tape gets caught in the fur and that hurts to be taklen off for example!), you could hide the tape tho cats use their smell for most everything and their smart little noses will find it if it is not locked up. Of course, wrapping gift time is around the corner...

Good luck!! You could also distract them with other toys!
