Dog stepped on rusty nail. Tetanus shot?

The nail came up through the skin web between two toes! I cut it off and then pulled it out. No blood and no apparent distress on the part of the dog. Soaked in warm water with a bit of salt...Looks fine, and no limping or licking. but I'm wondering if there is such a thing as a tetanus shot for dogs. I know to watch for signs of infection, etc., but is there anything else I should be doing?

That doggy definitely needs to see a vet right away. Dogs can get tetanus (the bacteria is called Clostridium tetani). If you wait, it might be too late.

Eeek, that's scary! I hate those *******s who leave rusty nails lying around.
