well we have a new puppy, for a month. As of last week, we would notice larher than large pee stains on the paper...it wasnt puppy pee, it was our cats pee. ...so i lifted the paper at night when we would all go to bed, so she cant pee on it...lone behold I come downstairs this AM and in the downstairs bathroom is a furry rug, with pee on it..! what are the reasonings do you think for a cat to pee outside box after us having her 5 years?

Stress because of the new puppy?
The papers were down for paper-training the puppy, right? Maybe the cat decided that meant anyone could pee on them. Or maybe she was trying to cover up the puppy's scent to mark her territory (or hide the puppy's scent from "enemies", if she likes him.)

Agree with LM1313. Cat is stressed because of puppy. Adult cats and puppies are a difficult combination.
Make sure your cat has a puppy-free area of the house to retreat to.
However, it's possible she has a urinary tract infection, so should be checked at the vet.
