Who's my daddy (and mommy) ... inspired by the What am I threads

We have had Lucy for a year now and had a pretty good feel for some of the breeds that she is made up from. This past weekend, we met a girl at the pet supply store that we go to who used to work at the shelter where we adopted her and remembered her (she was there when Lucy was first adopted out as a baby and when she was returned after 9 months). During her first stay at the shelter, she was with her two brothers and two sisters. The girl mentioned that, having seen a couple of her siblings now that they were grown up, that she was surprised that Lucy was the odd girl out in terms of her looks. She told us what kind of look her siblings had.

So, without me giving it away, what are your thoughts. Some body info: she is about 45lbs, sleek body (couldn't find a decent side picture), part wirehaired, part smooth. She normally has the crazy terrier nose hairs that curl up in front of her eyes.

I have no clue the best I can give you is Terrier, which you obviously already know. She is super cute. I am a sucker for wirey haired dogs.:)

I say Border terrier and chocolate lab He is adorable:love:

His eyes and nose look chocolate lab, but those crazy nose hairs look exactly like a border terrier!! .......there are red border terriers too, so he could have got the nose and eyes from that.

he may also have german wirehair pointer in him as well

I say Griffon. Normally, I wouldn't say that, but we have a griffon at our park and she looks like your doggy but with darker hair.
This site has the most pics:
Griffons Quebec (http://www.griffonkorthals-quebec.com/pages/hors_chasse/hors_chasse.html)
(if you go in the "entrainement" section and click on "Photos 1-30", there are some good ones in there...)

Oh, and did you know that the sperm from different males can fertilize different eggs, making the litter different breeds?

I"m going to say Airedale mixed with some smooth coated breed - maybe a hound.

Nope, I didn't know that. This may explain why some of her siblings look quite different. I'll let the guessing continue for a bit, then will tell what I think (and what we were told her siblings look like). :)

As an aside, in the last pic, all three dogs in the foregound are mine (Monty is the black and white heading away from the camera - I may do a What am I on him in the near future as we don't really have a clue, Jack is laying down chewing on a stick, and of course, Lucy)

The title of this reminds me of a line from a movie:

"Who is your daddy and what does he do?"

Can you name it?

I'm with Prin that there is definitely Griffon in there. Not quite the right markings or size to be GWP IMHO.

Yep, sorry haven't been online in a day or so. Best we can tell she is a Border Terrier mixed with god knows what. We had thought a bit of sheppard, lab, etc, but really don't know (we are trying to find out if the folks at the shelter know what her mom was). Apparently most of her siblings look like Am Staf's.

What do you think about the Griffon? You'd probably have the only one in your neighborhood...;)
