Aloe Vera/Hydrocortosone

Can I use a 100% aloe vera gel and 1% hydrocortosone from the drugstore to calm a mild skin irritation on my dog's hind quarters? Or do I have to use a specially formulated pet product? I'm not sure if regular drugstore products will be too harsh for a dog's skin.

That certainly will not hurt, though depending on what is causing the irritation it may not help either. Worth a try, though!

Another good thing to try is for most forms of dermatitis is a little tea tree oil mixed with witch hazel. But if it's something like mange or a staph infection, the relief will only be temporary...
