About two and half years ago, I adopted Solomon from the local humane society. He was neutered and declawed when I adopted him. He has been the only pet in my home. I am wondering now about adopting another cat and would appreciate any comments and suggeestions.

I don't know your cat...so I can't say how he would react. I do know there are tons of kitties out there looking for loving homes.

A second cat would probably be a good idea. Cats get bored and lonely when there's only one.
A young female - even a kitten at least 8 weeks - would be the best bet. Even then, you must introduce them properly although introductions should go much more quickly if the other cat is a baby.
